Britt’s Picks: Hot Off The Runway Top 5 Spring Beauty Trends of 2014
After a crazy winter (who could forget #snowpocolypse2014), it’s finally Spring here in the Pacific Northwest. Though it’s not quite time to put your sweaters and boots away in storage, here are 5 of my favorite Spring beauty trends straight off the runway that you can wear now to incorporate Spring into your look, despite the unpredictable PDX weather!

At first glance the idea of orange lipstick can seem a bit intimidating but what I love about this trend is that there is a shade of orange for everyone. Whether your looking for a neon bright or a subtle coral, there’s a shade of orange to compliment every skin tone.
Messy Romantic Braid

Messy milkmaid and cascading side braids dominated the Rachel Zoe, Nicole Miller and Giles runways during Fashion Week. I love the sophisticated yet casual look of a messy braid. Very bohemian spring.
Try It: Put your braiding skills to use and try this side braid tutorial from Oncewed.
Sleek Low Pony Tail

A sleek low pony tail is another perfect spring style because its effortless and chic. You can pair this style with a sundress during the day and a crop top and bold lip in the evening for a effortless day-to-night look.
Try It: Add a hair accessory like this Nasty Gal Gilded Glow Hair Tie to add a bit of edge to your do.

The au naturel, ‘no makeup’ makeup look is another big trend this season. Design houses such as Balmain, Isabel Marant and Chloe featured fresh face models with minimal color. Personally, I love a fresh face! Once the sun starts to come out and the temperature starts to rise less is definitely more.
Try it: Pair a sheer foundation, bronzer and a nude-pinkish lip to achieve this effortless look.
White Nail Polish

Following the trend of effortless minimalism, white nail polish is an absolute must for Spring. Last Spring, white polish was a huge and now, once again white is the ‘in’ spring color but this time there’s a twist. White nails were seen on the runways of designers like Cushnie et Ochs and Kate Spade with added lines and embellishments for a twist to the classic look. Not only does white compliment every complexion, but it also has a very chic and elegant yet edgy look about it. Love it!
