Emerging Designer Contest Launches
PORTLAND FASHION WEEK® OFFERS EMERGING DESIGNER CONTEST
Three Lucky Designers Will Win An Opportunity
To Showcase Their Collections On The PFW Runway
In its 12th season, Portland Fashion Week continues to search for its upcoming emerging designers. The production, put on by the Portland Fashion Council, offers a view into the many creative and talented designers the area has to offer. “With the support of the Portland Fashion Council, and local community partners, Portland Fashion Week is committed to drawing national and international interest, recognizing Portland as a must visit design destination” – Charlie Hales, Mayor of the city of Portland.
Portland Fashion Week® (PFW) will be offering to rising designers in the Portland area a chance to send their designs down the coveted fall runway. An opportunity, that can make lifelong dreams
come true. “I owe many thanks to Portland Fashion Week…these folks believed in me before anyone else had heard of my designs” – Rachel Rector, one of PFW’s winners of the Emerging Designer Contest last year. Designers are asked to simply submit an application and portfolio to be juried for consideration to show at PFW.
Semi finalist will be announced on July 29 and will have to wait for Portland Fashion Council’s “Fashion on the Square” event in early September to see if their skills made the cut. The categories encouraged to apply are ready-to-wear, bridal, and couture. One collection will be shown per night giving each designer his or her earned recognition as one of Portland’s new emerging designers.
To submit your designs, please fill out the application below. Look forward to seeing your collection ideas!
