Join us helping at Sunrise
A few years back some of our PFW producers and staff were giving mylar blankets, gloves and hand warmers to far east Multnomah County homeless when we met some high school aged young men from the Sunrise Center doing the exact same thing! We have partnered with them ever since when they open for inclement weather.
And the Sunrise Center opens this week as a warming shelter, in partnership with Multnomah County and Rockwood CDC, to provide respite from frigid temperatures from today 12/21 at 8pm until Friday, 12/23. They need your help! Join PFW as a volunteer!
Here are the two main ways you can make this shelter a life-saving and enjoyable experience:
Bring food or beverages! To sign-up for this, please email matthew@cultivatepdx.org
You can buy a meal, drinks, snacks, or dessert and bring them (or have them delivered) to the shelter. Just remember to check in before buying/bringing them!
You can also make a home-cooked meal or dessert and bring it to the shelter. This is a welcome and exciting change for our neighbors
Spread the word!
Share our social media posts about the shelter
Print off the attached flyers to share with people who may need the warmth

We've seen lives be saved and some of the strongest relationships be built during the dark times of severe weather emergencies. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
